After reading a lot and thinking a tad bit I thought this would be interesting: Based on what people have stated here they use the standard DPMS AR15 Multi-tool wrench to remove the stock barrel nut on our rifles. If this is the case, does that mean our barrel nut outside is the same diameter as an AR15 nut thus the gas tube grooves in the nut are the same size?
Just think, all S&W has to be doing is taking a standard AR15 barrel nut and thread it DPMS style on the inside. The outside will be identical. The only match-up issue would be the top rail heights (assuming they may be different)
If this is the case, shouldn't we be able to mount a Samson Evolution Handguard? It utilizes the stock AR15 barrel nut....so if the wrench works why would the Samson Evolution one not work?
Thoughts?
