Magpul stock with thick pad and a muzz brake ordered today!
Who said a pencil barrel will not shoot? I figure at 300 that is a dead hog!

300 yards is a breeze with this set-up... I've gone out to 500 yards at a friends ranch with M118 LR 7.62/51 milsurp ammo and was getting 4" groups (no wind - 60 degrees) consistently.
As far as your shoulder, if you have an extra $100 hanging around (and don't mind the "BIG UGLY") get a JP Enterprises Recoil Eliminator.
JP - Recoil Eliminators
This thing is a piece of genius...
I would not trade my set-up for anything, especially these three items... Geissele SSA-E Trigger - JP Enterprises Recoil Eliminator - JP Enterprises Captured Spring Buffer... Not overstating, but this .308 shoots nearly as soft as my pellet rifle. And follow-up shots are fast-as-heII because the rifle doesn't move... Watch this video of my friend shooting steel (and a couple of soda bottles) at 250 yards (his first time on my gun, right out of the gate !).
