Default New Quad Rail From UTG

This quad rail is a drop in for our MP-10's. Developed by UTG just for our MP-10's and released to the market on 10/28. Hard to beat the price at $88.95 plus the usual UTG lifetime warranty. Mine shipped today and should be here by 11/1 and I will give a field test report on it. Here is the link to the company that has the first run rights to it. If you have never ordered from Combathunting.com you will be happy with their product lines and their great service. Check it out!!

I really like UTG and have some of their products, including a 13" one piece free float quadrail for my AR-15, but this one is just too short and also in 2 pieces. Now if they had a free floating one piece QR of about 14" for the M&P10 I'd buy it immediately.

I've decided to keep the Magpul handguard on mine for the time being. When I decide to upgrade, I think I'll replace the gas block with a low profile model and then go with a 13 inch Troy Alpha free float handguard. I just put one on my AR15 project build and am very impressed with the stiffness and light weight. It also comes with three picatinny rail sections and mounting hardware to enable a front attachment point for a bipod, a longer one I mounted to the bottom rear for a magpul AFG, and another small one for a light that I put on the right side forward in case I ever put a light on it (which is unlikely).

I'm not knocking the UTG quad rail here - I have one on my M&P15. It's a bit heavier, but is rock solid and very rugged.

OK, my new UTG quad rail arrived a few days ago and it was a simple 10 minute install. Rail is a good tight install and comes with 12 rubber rail guards if you want to install them. No complaints for this price.

The bipod is also UTG, with quick release mount. Don't alway want one hanging out in front so I like this model.

I've got a few of those and they do pivot a few degrees, nothing like the high end Atlas or Harris bipods, but these cost $25 - $30 - the good ones with 20ish degrees of pivot cost $200 or more. I can live with this configuration given the price delta.

UTG has another series with more pivot for $29:

It's also a cleaner look similar to the Atlas bipods. I put one on my new AR build and am happy with it so far.

Smile installation notes

installed mine last weekend, the hardest part was getting off the magpul one that i had put on before. Just a couple things to think about:
1. This one does not snap into the front ring at the gas block like others, it actually goes around it which i think looks better but was a bit confusing at first. This makes installing it easier since you don't have to get it to snap under the rear spring loaded retainer.
2. I have a front grip/bipod that has to slide on the end of a rail, it can't be put on from the side. once installed the only way to install it is to push out the roll pin on the gasblock sling ring, remove it, install the grip, then put the sling ring back on... if you are careful you can do this without removing the roll pin from the hole which makes it easy to put back on the ring. It would be easier to install the grip on the bottom rail before installing it on the gun.
3. I put loctite on the 6 bolts... just seemed like a good thing to do.
