I picked up my M&P10 today and already had most of the mod parts ready to go so I started with replacing the buffer tube assembly with the Vltor A5 7 Position assembly. The tube isn't an issue as the specs and length are the same. However, it's apparent you cannot use the buffer for the Vltor system as it is too long. So my question is should it be okay to continue to use the stock carbine buffer and spring in the Vltor 7 Position tube? All seems to work fine with it, the bolt locks, etc. Should I consider running a heavier buffer in the system? Thanks in advance for any insight.
