Default Free float

It looks like if you free float this rifle, the handguard is mounted to the barrel nut, correct? Is that a true free float? I thought it was usually mounted to the receiver?

JP Rifles Quality Stuff..
Either of JP's AR 308 handguards will mount with a supplied replacement barrel nut. One will use the same wrench as in necessary to remove the original, the second has it's own 'wrench' for it's slightly different barrel nut.

The "nut" is rigidly mounted to the receiver and does not affect barrel stress or harmonics; Therefore, they do in fact rigidly mount to the upper receiver.. BOTH are therefore true free-floating.
