Default Folding front and rear sights

I just purchased a MP 10 and I want folding front and rear sights. I called S&W and got no help. I want standard military type sights like the S&W AR15 tactical.

Thanks in advance

Was this a new or used gun? I've never heard of one or seen a new one without folding sights.

They're made by Troy Industries and can be had all over the internet.

Mine didn't come with sights. If the rifle is stock and has a rail on the gas block, you will want a metal front sight at minimum. The front gas block can melt plastic folding sights. As far as what brand to get, there is a bunch of opinions on who is best but Magpul Pro sights seem to be the overall favorite.

It looks like Magpul pro sights MAG 275 and MAG 276 would work.
What sights are you using?

Thanks

New and not having sights is the way S&W sells them.

I have the plastic Magpul MBUS sights but I removed the stock gas block for a low profile one and installed a free floating Apex Machinery hand guard, so heat is not an issue. I may eventually upgrade to metal sights but it isn't pressing and my primary aiming is done with a scope.

Mine came new with a Magpul grip, stock and S&W stamped Troy sights but it's a couple of years old. I see on their website they only sell stripped ones now.

I would go with Magpul pros.

Check out A.R.M.S. Pricey, but they are VERY well made. And they work.

Having said that, I got a smoking deal on a barely used upper not long ago that has a set of magpuls on it. I was surprised at how solid they are. Very serviceable.

They are all designed to fit on picatiny rails, so they will all fit. Pick the ones you like best and shoot!

You would think this would be an easy answer; however the email I received from Troy Said they don’t make sights for the S&W MP10, go figure.

The MBUS sights mounted right on and sighted right in before I swapped stuff out.

Happily, the block rail is even with the receiver rail. Apparently, not all rifles are like that.

Mine had no sights on it when purchased new. Troy and Yankee Hill folders have worked fine with my MP10.

Yes you have to be aware of the height of the gas block when picking folders as some manufacturers have gas block rails which are shorter than the upper's rail, necessitating a gas block height (taller) front sight. Fortunately as Sgtsandman said the MP10's gas block is the same height as the receiver's rail.

I decided to go with the magpul mbus pros. Haven't recieved them yet so i cant tell you how much i like them . I just liked how low profile they were. And they were metal so i can use them on the gas block untill i put my new hand guard on
