Aged CLP ok for cleaning?
Most of the devil dogs here likely remember having to clean their weapons with CLP before turning them into the armorers who then went over them with their magic Qtips. Not sure if the other service branches used the same stuff.
Just so happens I inherited a half full gallon container of the stuff from a buddy who moved away. The manufacture date is 1988 with a test date of 1991. The stuff looks and smells just like the stuff we used. Think it would be ok to use the clean my M&P10 or just dispose of it? Anyone still using CLP?

I can't imagine a reason that your CLP would not be just fine to use today.
Use it and be thankful you won't have to buy any more for the rest of your life!!

What Rpg said. Just give it a good shaking before each use. Now just find a quart can of Grease-Rifle-US to round things out.

Keep it, especially if it's the early sweeter, thicker stuff.
I'm still using some that's pre-85. Toss a stainless steel
nut or two in the jug, to disperse the teflon.

Yea, after shook up good it's thick golden syrup. Good idea with adding the stainless steel nuts as shakers! Picked up a couple of small plastic travel bottles that I filled.
