Default MP10 - 6.5 creedmoor informal range test

I was looking at a nice long range rifle and had decided on the TC Performance center LRR. But, the MP10 caught my eye and I fell in love.
Last week she arrived and off to the range we went. I mounted an older Burris Mtac 3.5 - 10 Mildot scope. I zeroed at 50 yards and moved out to 100. I was amazed ( and happy) to see less than 1/2 MOA out of the gun. She ate all rounds put in the mag, even reloads. Now I've got to get a scope worthy of this gun! I can see it would do very well at 600, 1000 and perhaps beyond.

Very impressed with the gun so far. It seems that the performance center may have solved their earlier issues with quality control. Or at least this gun was fabricated on a good day. ( I did have my reservations. I recently bought a .357 L-comp that shoots 4" to the right at 7 yards. It is now in the hands of the performance center for repairs. )

This is my first 6.5 creedmoor rifle. Very impressed with the round. ( I'm an NRA competition shooter - leg matches with M1A, and high power long range with 7mmx08).

I got mine a year ago. I put a Burris veracity 5-25 x 50 on it. I have not gotten out to scope it in long range yet. I figure 500 to 600 yards is plenty but I have to admit that 1000 yards sounds intriguing.
I love mine too! It’s the only AR rifle that I have ever owned. I know some people are critical of it for this reason or that but I really fell for it!
Glad you are happy with yours! Good shooting!

I'm loving mine in 6.5cr too. It's my first "AR10" type platform.

I did have short stroking issues with mine at first but I re-aligned the gas block and it has been flawless since.

I also found 140gr Winchester Match are a little too hot for this rifle. I'm thinking they marketed this rd for bolt guns?

Federal fusion 140's are GTG though.

I am only putting my own loads threw it for now.

Bought it last fall and am looking forward to working up some accurate loads for it this summer.

Interesting about the short stroking. Mine has digested anything I've put in it, over the counter, or reloads. I've got a good under .5 min three shot zero at 100 yards this far. Using an swfa ss/HD 5-20 scope

On an old thread like this, you should Personal Message whoever you want to talk to.

To PM, click on their name and a menu will come up to do many different things. You can write them, but it won't mean they will answer or even read it.

Ivan

Pet loads are often a very personal thing, sabotage has been known to happen. Do your research! ITB

My friend in Utah did not have any hiccups with his new rifle.....
after he ran 100 rounds threw it, to "Loosen" it up and smooth out the metal.

Good luck.

A good target load is 41 grains of 4350 and the plain old cheap Hornady 140 grain match hp. <Thats pretty much a factory duplication load. Accept the Creed for what it is. Trying to squeeze more velocity out of it creates more trouble than what it’s worth.
