Default AR front sight

Regardless of brand, what is a good way to turn the front sight post if you do not have one of those little tools. It is very frustrating and I'm sure there is a simple way. Yes I know the little pin must be pushed in before the post is turned to the next notch. Thanks.

the gi manual says to use the tip of a 223 round to push down the little pin and turn the sight.

True that! Of all the firearms I've ever fired the AR-15 is my favorite to shoot.

That front sight needs periodic maintenance too. The GI service rifle operator's manual specifies one drop of lubricant on the front sight as needed.

Bullet tip, nail, ball point pen, etc. We all used nails (tip rounded off a bit) on the range.
