Default M&P 15 Help

Hello all,

I'm looking at purchasing my first AR (I'm normally a pistol guy). My dealer has an outstanding deal on the basic optics ready version of the M&P 15 and I was wondering if anyone has had any issues? They don't seem to get that much respect in AR specific forums. I am also looking at a Sabre Defence and a LMT but there is a $300 and $500 price hike between them and the S&W. I have a few accessories already for a basic model like sight, M33 handgurad, vertical grip, etc. I would really like some help making the decision, is $750 a good deal on the S&W. With the money saved I could get a M&P 22 also (they're on sale too). Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a good buy. S&W is having a 5 free magazine promo with their M&P 15. Don't see how you can go wrong.

Curious, what are the 15-22s going for on sale in your area?

They are fine weapons out of the box. Unless you plan on taking it to the sandbox in combat, it will fit your purposes just fine. It's no Colt, but it's no DPMS or Stag either. Plus one on the magazine rebate. That's over $100 worth of free mags. Just my .02.

Sounds like a great deal to me. I have also been looking around for a M&P AR15 not that version but the prices I have seen are much higher.

Thats a great price for a great rifle. I have the M&P 15T and love it! I put an EoTech on it, a hogue grip, forward grip, and a blackhawk single point sling. I have had no issues with it at all. I have close to 2000 rounds thru it with no issues. I have fired brass ammo and the newer wolf steel cased ammo with no issues.

These rifles are Mil spec and are a quality rifle. They also have a great warranty. If I could find one for that price I would buy another.

Go for it.....you wont be disappointed. Plus you could get the 15-22 as well.

Right now the M&P 15-22 is on sale for $439. Is that a good deal also?

Thanks for the positive info.

Yes, that $439 is a good price on the 15-22. S&W just recently raised the MSRP on them to something close to $550. Correct MSRP can be found on the S&W website.

I noticed the wholesale price on the M&P15-22 shot up about $30. Glad I got mine about a month ago when the price was lower.
