New M&P 15/VTAC
Has anyone out there read or heard of when the new S&W/ Viking Tactics rifle will be available?
YouTube - Viking Tactics and S&W ShotShow 2010 Part 1
I emailed back and forth with S&W and after a few exchanges it was clear the guy on their end don't know about the new product. I sent him a copy of the ShotShow YouTube video link, re-asked the question and haven't heard back since.
Thanks and regards,

My best guess would be after July. I have the 2009 VTAC and that version came out in August...my cost was $1,650 via GunBroker.com.
S&W has a ton of new 2010 handguns (BodyGuards etc) to make for their initial production runs.
This 2009 VTAC is the finest rifle I have shot...rivals my 3 Weatherbys at 2/3's of the cost...completely happy with performance and all of the upgraded features. It's a hit at my local range!
Go get one!

Thanks for the info 460 - great feedback.
I see Bud's has the '09 model at a good price as well.
One of the things that caught my eye with the new model is that it include BUIS - did you put them on your VTAC or just go with optics?
Thanks again,
Regards,

I went with optics.
The 2-point VTAC sling is great.
Check YouTube.com under "M&P15 VTAC" for instructional videos by Viking Tactics...good info on the sling, flashlight mount, flash hider etc.

No. I purchased a $140 1X scope just to test before I spend $500-700 on a good scope. Fixed scopes will be approx $150 & up and I may still go that direction but I will not have both for my usage.

Gotcha.............
I think I'm planning a 'divorce rifle' - the new model M&P VTAC or the Noveske version (currently out of stock) with either an Aimpoint or Eotech on a LaRue mount............
Regards,
