X has standard FSB and 7" Troy railed fore end. T has front flip up sight and 9" free float railed fore end. If you need a free float hand guard then go with the T. If not go with the X.

ETA: I also have the X.

thanks all. I am new to AR world so pardon my lack of knowledge. I understand the flip down sights. What would the Troy railed fore end vs free float railed fore end do?

I was set on the x but then the place i was ordering form has the T on sale for less then X.

I can the get the x for $1241 (tax and shipping included) vs the T for $1224 (tax and shipping included)....that got me looking at the T.

one other ?, i see the T advertised with 10 rd magazines but assume it will accept 30 rd magazines with out issue? why does it come with a 10 round magazine. Edit:I figured this one out with Google. looks like the sale is the California edition that comes with the 10 rd clip.

It's really personal preference. You want a free float rail if you are going to put sights or optics on it (which in the case of the T the front sight is on the free float rail). Some people prefer to have the standard FSB for a front sight, so it's always ready. (This is my preference).

Certain states do not allow high-cap magazines, such as California, Massachusetts, etc... Also make sure the barrel has a flash suppressor on it, as some states do not allow that either.

Do tons of research before you buy. What may work for one person may not work for you and vice versa.

just to clarify, i am about to order the 15T but it comes with the 10 rd clip. There is no difference in gun from the 15T sold with the 30 rd clip vs the 15T with the 10. I just make sue the California version doesn't have any special modification to the gun. 30rd mag will go just fine?

i just realized the stock is fixed on the MP15T (811004) How easy is it to change that to a collapsing stock?

I assume it would be a matter of replacing the buffer tube. Here's a good blow by blow of how to do it:

Collapsible Stock Removal - AR15 Armory.com

However.....if you don't live in Cali, you might as well just go ahead and get a non-California one, no? If you are thinking of a Cali one because you've seen them cheaper, by the time you have replaced the stock, chances are you won't save much, if any. Also...wouldn't the Cali one come with a "bullet button" attached? AFAIK, again, easily replaced....but much easier just to buy a non Cali one to begin with IMHO.
