Default Magnifier...

Looking into a magnifier....with that said I did some research on one that will better fit my budget than the eotech/aimpoint for $400-600. I see there has been some posts in the 15-22 forum but I am wanting one that will handle the .223 as well.

I am wondering if anyone has the Sightmark, Mako, PA magnifiers and alternative (cheaper) twist or flip to side mounts?

There is a gun show coming local in the next couple weekends so I am hoping to go check them out if they have any.

Ive heard the Mako are very big and limited eye relief, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm looking at a 5x, something that can be thrown on for 100yrds and very precise 50yrd shots.

Thanks in advance.

I picked up a Vortex VMX3 and mounted it on a Larue mount behind my Eotech. It's been great so far. The magnifier was $130.

I am just curious if someon can give me an idea of the diffrence between the Vortex and other lower price magnifiers, and the ones made by Aimpoint and EOTECH? I have already decided to go with an Aimpoint Micro H1 but I am having a hard time justifying the cost of an Aimpoint magnifier. I don't really see the magnifier as absolutely necessary, just a nice add on. The red dot is critical in my opinion so that is why I am going with the Aimpoint. Any ideas on the differences?

I really couldn't find a difference, nor could I justify the increased cost. It's just a magnifier, so actual optic quality wasn't all that important to me.
