I bought myself a birthday gift this year - a CMMG parkerized .22LR conversion kit for my AR (S&W M&P15T). It arrived Tuesday - just in time for my usual birthday routine (I take the day off every year and spend the morning at the range). Woke up Wednesday, drove to Walmart to pick up a 550 round .22LR Federal value pack, then went to the range.
The packaging for the conversion kit states that the break-in period for the parkerized kit is 200 rounds. Within the first 50 or so rounds I experienced two stovepipes. After that the kit performed flawlessly for another 250 or so rounds. I found it easy to compensate POA at 25 and 50 yards using the EOtech and BUIS and, shooting from a standing position, I was able to place 75 rounds within a 4 inch area at 50 yards, most inside the 1.5" bullseye (of which there is very little left). I was mostly just running ammo through it for fun and not trying to shoot tight groups. I was a bit surprised, however, with how consistent performance and accuracy were using the kit and loose bulk .22LR ammo. The best thing about the kit IMO - it's a pile of fun to shoot with!
Color me happy!
