Default M&P 15I Chamber

Someone can verify with go/no-go gauge is the 15I is really only .223 and not 556 ?
Thanks
I'd like to buy it.
Thanks
Michele.

If it's stamped into the barrel .223, then that is what it is. The lower receiver has no bearing on what the upper can shoot.
Don't shoot 5.56mm in a .223.

I believe that ALL M & P 15's were made with a 5.56 chamber.

As noted above, the barrel should be marked 5.56.

M&P15's have a true 5.56 chamber.

The "I" in M&P-15I is for "International". They are chambered in 223 not 5.56. They are for export to countries that do not allow folks to own 5.56.
