Default YHM diamond series free float Rail

Anyone install a YHM free float forearm on theit M&P15? I have a question about the two anti-rotation screws. They are supposed to go in the right and left side or the rear of the forearm into the barrel nut but they wont seat all the way in for me to get the small threads started. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this. Thanks

Sounds a bit odd.

The receiver nut that the screws go into should be "square with the world" so that when you attach the rails, the screws dig into the areas cut out on the nut.

Did you test fit it before assembling it?

Folks who frequently assemble AR's with YHM use either a second wrench or a tiny bit of loctite to hold the receiver nut in place while tightening the barrel/barrel-nut down. ( keeps the receiver nut stable )

Also, make sure you screw in nearly all the way the outer set ring on the receiver nut. That way, you know the rails won't bottom out before the holes where the set screws go in place and lined up.

Yea I have not installed it yet, I was doing a test fit to see how the screws would go into the forearm and they will not go all the way into it, they bottom out when they hit the barrel nut. It seems the diameter of the screws are larger than the notches in the barrel nut.
