I dislike vertical grips because they dig into your thigh when the carbine is across your lap riding in a vehicle. Obviously this isn't a concern for most civilian use though. I also think that vertical grips ruin the lines on most rifles. The AFG "looks" much better.

But ultimately for plain old shooting, you will need to try both and decide. The RVG is intended to be more of a hand stop than a vertical grip. The AFG1/2 is the next evolution of that idea.

AFG2 if your handguard will allow the attachment.

AFG2 seems like the way to go. I have used vertical grips for a long time. I want to switch to AFG. I use my vertical not to "grip" it per say, on a tennis racket fashion (not that there is anything wrong with that), but instead I place my hand on it and support it the way I would grip a pistol almost. So an AFG2 would make me happy.
