Default Help with m&p lower receiver
Well im not new to guns, but new to ar-15s.
recently, as in last week, i bought a complete M&P lower receiver on gun broker last week for $270 shipped.
now the question is, something seems a little weird to me, but it may just be because i dont know much about the M&Ps.

First thing, the serial number is stamped weird, and the rollmark doesnt seem to be done as professionally as i would think.

secondly, the serial number is stamped very weird, the first "1" is a different size and looks sloppy.

here are the pictures from the ad, but this is NOT my exact serial number, if someone could look it up for me and see if it is legitimate, that would be greatly appreciated.



also, the M&P seems to be in a weird coloring, almost as if its fading out of the original silverish color. unfortunately i dont have a picture of this.

Gun Broker, where far too many unscrupulous people go to pawn off their unwanted items.

This did go through your FFL right? He didn't have a problem with the serial number did he? If someone re-stamped the number you would be able to tell from the finish..is it different in that area? Looks to me like sloppy stamping from the factory but that's just me looking at that pic.

nah he didnt have a problem registering it or anything. the seller is an A+ seller that had 0 bad feedback out of 300 something. says hes been on there since 09 and sells parts all the time.

Only way to know is to contact S&W tomorrow and have them run the serial number.
