Default Any experience with newer M&P15T model #811041?

I have read posts regarding the difference between the original 15T (with Troy handguards, etc) and the newer, less expensive version. I have not however seen any real feedback on the newer, "less expensive" M&P 15T. Buds Gun Shop has it listed at $968 which is almost $400 less than the troy model they also sell.

It is model #811041 with MSRP of $1,159 on S&W site. Does anyone have this particular model? Feedback? Considering it as a first AR-15.

S&W lists the following info on it:

5.56
16" Barrel with 1 in 8" Twist 5R Rifling
Folding MagpulŽ MBUS Front and Rear Sights
MagpulŽ PMAG Magazine
10" Patent Pending, Anti-Twist, Free-Floating Rail
Barrel Material: 4140 Steel
Barrel Finish: MeloniteŽ
Receiver Material: 7075 T6 Aluminum
Receiver Finish: Hard Coat Black Anodized
Chromed Components: Bolt Carrier & Gas Key

Thanks

Well, the price difference is mostly in the Troy rail and sights. However, the 1/8 twist bbl. would appeal to many more than those things, I think. Chrome lined 1/9 bbl on the original is probably more durable (not sure by what margin though) but less able to handle the tactical, anti personnel loads and heavier target rounds. Not sure that is important to many people but might be for duty work.

Does anyone happen to have this exact model? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks. I am very interested in finding out the quality of the free float rail.
