Default Question on optics mounts

I have a sport and I like my iron sights. But I would like to have the option of a scope for coyote hunting. If I mounted and zeroed a scope on my flat top mount could I simply remove and reinstall in the same grooves and still be zeroed?

I use a one piece Burris mount on my M&P-15. I can remove and reinstall it without re-zeroing. I think it's still on sale at Midway. Mine came with two sets of upper rings, one plain and one with a small flat top for another optic.

They also make a quick detachable version of the above mount. It would be my recommendation.

I like it. Would I have to remove my rear sight if I used this mount or could I see over it? Thanks for all help.

I wouldn't want a fixed rear sight between my eye and the scope. Remove it for now and keep the sight with the rifle, put if back on if you have to remove the scope. At some point you can upgrade to a flip rear sight that will fold down when not needed, but still be on the rifle.
