Default cleaning the Sport ?

what are you guys using to clean your melonite Sport barrel ? Is it safe to use the brass brushes ?

You can use anything you would use on a steel barrel,its a treatment not a coating so its not something that you can wear off.

I agree with breechloader, the barrel is harder than anything you are going to clean it with!!!

I dip the tips of my bullets in hoppe's #9 prior to shooting, makes it self cleaning. J/K, I just clean it like any other firearm.

I just drag a rag of used motor oil thru the bore and barrel....thats good enough right?

Well, it qualifies for a Magnum PI Vietnam flashback episode............ or maybe the original A team!!

Man, I am getting old!

There is a half truth built in here; synthetic motor oils have a pretty good reputation with regards to AR15 lubing.

I just clean mine with an oil rag. Even after a rough day of shooting after its wiped down it stills like brand new.
