Just a caution. The cheapies, even with big magnification, are very hard to use, too light and don't focus well.

Much under three hundred dollars is really a crapshoot and you are better off with the lower (like 20X) mag. high quality scope than a 60X cheapie.

Look at Nikon for some value in high quality scopes. JMHO.

One example of reasonably priced, high quality scope..............http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-16-48x-P...5460018&sr=8-4

I bought a $50 one at wallmart. It works good for the 100 yard range I took it to. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

I've been very impressed with the Celestron 90mm Spotting scope. With the 32mm (40x) eyepiece I've not had a problem seeing 22 holes at 200 yards even if in the black. The tripod that comes with the scope is OK, but a little too flimsy for a windy day especially if using the 100x lens. Works perfect with the $30 Aspen micro-adjustable tabletop tripod.

Actually, you can get the scope with 32 mm eyepiece (no tripod or 12.5mm (100x) eyepiece) for $159 which is probably a better deal. The 40x is more than adequate to see 22 holes at 200 yards and you won't waste money on the tripod you probably won't use.
