Default Adapter to install Muffle Brake onto MP15

HI, I just invested in an M&P 15 / 5.54 and really enjoy it's accuracy and ease of use. I'm in Mass so it was not sold with a muzzle brake or suppressor nor does the barrel threading to accept one of several brakes available on line. I'd rather not have to take to gun smith to have barrel threaded. Midway sells an adapter with four set screws that one can secure to outside of barrel as a way of attaching brake or suppressor.

I have one for my M&P 15-22 that works great but the adapter does NOT fit the M&P 15 whose barrel has a slightly larger diameter.

Does anyone one where I can purchase an adapter for my M&P 15?

Thanks !

I have seen them on Ebay if not you may be able to contact the guy who makes my muzzle brakes to make one. If you need to let me know.

Why do you want a muzzle brake ?
I have fired AR 15's that have them and I do not like them at all. They make the sound of the shot much louder to both the shooter and people next to you at a range. I don't see where there is a need for a muzzle brake on a AR 15.

every weapon has recoil and the less recoil there is the faster and more accurate the weapon is. i run a surefire break and love it.
personally i would go and have your barrel threaded if it is legal where you live. it is by far the most secure and you wont have to worry about shooting your break off if it comes loose

He's in Communist MA, I believe he falls under the same BS restrictions as the PRNJ in regards to the flash hider, must be permanently affixed, i.e. pinned or silver soldered. As far as the recoil on an AR, all I have to say is "WHAT RECOIL"?????

thunder....you are right recoil is minimal...but muzzle flip is existent and I bought the new brake to reduce muzzle flip. when you are shooting 250+ yard shots a little muzzle flip can really ruin a second shot if needed.

agreed that there is very little recoil, anything that will help me stay on target is a plus for me. its all up to the user i have run a flash hider and they work fine.
