Default SEQ S/N Stripped M&P 15 lowers (WTB Question) ...

greetings all.

I emailed S&W about 10 days ago and haven't heard back, so I thought I might put the question out here. I have twin infant sons and i'd like to build each an AR over the next few years, part by found-it-on-sale part. I'd like to purchase two, sequentially S/N'd M&P 15 stripped lowers. How feasible is this? My LGS's all looked uninterested since the pricepoint for them is so low. Larger distributors Buds, gunbroker, etc. are where i'm looking and have notifications sent when in stock, but I'd still have to contact the distributor and get some kind of confirmation I would be getting seq s/n'd ones.

So I ask you, what is the liklihood? I've found other vendor stripped lowers and a few seq s/n'd ones, but i'd rather have S&W if possible to keep all our ARs with the same base.

Call S&W and give it a shot. You never know.

If you don't have your heart set on a S&W lower receiver, check out RGuns.net . They have Plain-Jane stripped Delaware Machinery lowers for $65. I acquired two consecutively numbered DM lowers from them. They have a couple boxes full of them, all sequential.

The DM lower is one that gets poo-poo'ed on certain AR forums. Yes, it has no fancy roll marks or pictographs. Even though, it is built to spec and all the lower parts fit in perfectly.

Here's an idea. On the big blank spot on the non-ejection port side of the DM lower, you can take it to an engraver and put something special there for your boys. I think that would be cooler than a S&W roll mark.

Also, you can stockpile the parts to build a complete rifle. Prep them for long term storage, and put them away. When the boys are big enough to understand & remember, assemble the rifles together.

IMO, it's the memories & the little touches that make the rifle memorable. They'll be able to say, "This rifle... me and my dad put this together just for me...see the engraving? Man that was cool."
