There is nothing wrong with being a first....it gives you the ability to use it and report back to the rest of it on how it does. That is kinda how we as a group seem to learn what works and what doesnt. So rock on brother!!

I think I've seen a few posted (EDIT - here's one http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-w...x40-scope.html - that's the P223 rather than the ProStaff, but the adjustment turrets are the only difference). I've got that scope on my Rem 700, but that won't help you see how it looks on your AR

The P-223 is built on the PROSTAFF platofrm and has the BDC reticle dialed in for 55 grain bullets at a MV of 3240 fps. Different ammo can be used with Nikon's Spot On Ballistic Program to dial in your specific shooting style. I have used Nikon's PROSTAFF 3-12 BDC extensively last year on my .308 for deer hunting. Entered my shooting info into Spot On and got the distance for each BDC circle. 4:4 all 1 shot stops. Longest 336 yards.

I have that scope and I mount it on my M&P15 PS. I used the Burris 1 piece mount. I don't use the scope very often...I use my EOTech XPS-2 for almost all of my shooting.

The Burris mount works great. Once I sighted my scope I can easily remove it and then reinstall it and it is still on target. You just have to make sure it goes back to the same place on the rail. I have it sighted in at 100 yards using the x9 power. The scope works great and holds focus through the entire range. I have the Magpul folding rear sight and the scope does not touch the sight, although it comes pretty close. Sorry I don't have a photo.
