Default Guy who "painted" green zombie gun

To the guy that had painted his s&w15 with green paint to make his zombie edition s&w15. What paint did you use on the engraving? and how did you get the over paint off the gun and not out of the engraving?

You paint over the engraved area with nail polish, then use acetone free nail polish remover, there is ton of YouTube videos.

I used snap-on green touch up enamel paint and after it cured I used a mr clean magic erasure to buff off the excess. I tried the other way and couldn't get the lettering as crisp and as clean as my way, but if you want to do the nail polish and then clean it with remover and it works for you go for it. I happen to think enamel paint is harder and sure seems to last longer, It hasn't faded at all and I was able to do some of my accessories also without a problem. If the mr clean magic erasure removes your black anodization then you didnt have a very good anodization. On my sport you could never tell that I did it that way. But to each his own. It is still on my rifle if you look close and it is still just as green. Plus solvents havent done anything to it. The shade is called extreme green! thats the color of my snap on tool box

I have a hobby store just down the road from me. I'll go pick up a tube of it. Why don't you want to use ace-tone? does it just eat up the finish to much.

I tried the other method and I just didnt get the fine detail as crisp and clear as I wanted, I can pull my magwell grip off and it is still beautiful and crisp and clear as the day I did it. It worked for me, this is just how I did it and I didnt say it was the best it just worked the best for me.
