Hey everyone,
Got my M&P 15 OR last Saturday to go along with my 15-22.
It has some issues and has to go back to S&W. It will not feed properly from a fully loaded magazine. Boom, Boom, Click, and then it takes all my strength to eject the bad round. It looks like they are being smashed against the feed ramps and are being bent and crushed right at the neck on the cartridge. I tried 5 different PMAGs, H&K mags, FNH mags, and whatever else my buddies have. It will usually work fine with no more than 8-10 rounds in the magazine. Strange right? I am familiar with this weapon system, and the rifle was properly cleaned and lubed (several times), using CLP, Slip 2000, Militech 1, and still the same result. I also seem to have ALOT of brass specs in my chamber. I know it is normal to have some brass sparkles come out while cleaning, but it seems heavier on this rifle. I also tested it with 3 different types of ammo - Fed. M193 5.56, Fed .223, and Remington UMC .223. Shot a string of 100 rounds of 5.56 loading no more than 10 in the magazine, then using the same magazine I loaded 30, shot about 8 rounds and then the problem surfaced again. I have made up my mind to send it off, as a brand new $1000 dollar rifle should not give me any problems. Just wondering if anyone has shipped theirs off, and how the process went for you.
Thanks for your time, and for all those currently serving or have served in our Armed Forces ... Thank You. I am the proud son of an Army vet!
