MP 15 5.56 sport
I am new to the AR style guns I own quite a few other guns, Ive been wanting to get one for a while now , so last week I got one 3 more days until I get to pick it up...[YAAA] I was thinking/ wanting to put a quad rail on the front as well as folding f/r sights. Any suggestions? Also are there any companies out there making a dust shield for the sport?? I might buy a aftermarket upper down the road but I figured the MP 15 sport is a decent starting platform... Also was thinking of getting a case of Wolf ammo any ideas please feel free to speak your mind!!! Also I have a few 30rd clips, I live in ca as I cant seem to find out if the High cap clips are legal? Sorry guys Im a newbie...

The benchmark in folding sights are the Troys. They and several others make quality quad rails. You need to decide if you want plain drop in or free float. The free float will be a bit more complicated to install and a little more expensive.
Living in California has probably made saying"clip" almost automatic from reading all the anti gun writers who know nothing about guns. AR15s use magazines, not clips. A clip is a method of holding rounds aligned for insertion into a magazine but is not the correct term for the mag.

As a fellow Californian, my understanding is only 10 round mags are legal. I'm no lawyer, but your dealer should advise.
I too am awaiting a "Sport". I got the it because of simplicity, experience w/ MP 15/22, the reality of how I intend to use it, and I don't feel guilty about the purchase since my truck tires cost more.
My belief is to use better ammo when breaking in the gun, to limit the variables of me or the rifle when missing the bull's eye. Then I use what ever I get my hand on for cheap, and trade off cleaning versus cost per round. Maybe I'm a clean freek, but what would you pay for ammo that only needs a single pass of a bore snake after a 100 rounds.

I have put tons of Tulammo through my Sport and it never needs more than one pull with the bore snake.

Its not an Armalite Rifle, it is a Sport Rifle. California max in a magazine is 10, 30 will get you a one way ticket to the pokey. They took the bullet assist and dust shield off the Sport to make it less expensive, so if it has the space and tooling to attach a dust cover you can get one from Brownells.com. Shoot the best ammo you can afford to break in the weapon. Enjoy your SPORT Rifle.

I thought the Cali Rifles came with a 10 round mag. and a bullet button but I could be wrong.
