Default Pulled the Trigger

Not a frequent poster but since I became the proud owner of an M&P 15 Sport today I wanted to tell someone and my daughters could care less about the story, they just want to shoot. I've been in the learning stage of shopping for an AR for the last 6-7 months and when I decided I was ready to buy, not surprisingly most of the retail and online outlets have been sold out of the M&P 15 Sport. In the last two weeks I decided I would have to ante up a little more and go with the M&P15 OR as there were several at my LGS and online. Locally, Academy Sports had the best price on the OR so I took my lunch hour to go pick one up. I told the gentleman behind the counter what I wanted, he went to the stock to grab a new in box model and when we opened the box to take a look, what do you know it was the Sport model. Of course I snatched it up. Saved $250 over what i was planning to spend on the OR and was able to snag a few extra mags and ammo. Looking forward to breaking it in this weekend. Now if I can only luck into finding a Shield.....

Congrats on the new rifle. You're going to love it.

But I have to ask, with you finding a Sport in an OR box, does that mean that some other customer was equally surprised to find an OR in their Sport box?

Good luck with that! I got lucky the other day went into the store to buy ammo and the truck had just come in with 2 9mm Shields. One of the employee's bought the first one and I walked out of the store with a smile on my face and the second Shield. True I wanted the 40 but maybe I'll grab it when S&W catches up on production.

Congrats. I'm wanting to get one next month. Hopefully I'll be able to find one and not have to wait for months.
