troy delta battlerail on m&p-15 or
Just wondering if someone can tell me if this rail will work with the or model. It appears that the gas block is in the same location, and is roughly the same size as the front site on the standard 15. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I am 95% sure it will work has long as you order the carbine length.
Might wanna double check with Troy. Tell them you have gas block with a pictanny rail installed and give them the dimensions of the gas block.
You can always remove that gas block and go with a low profile gas block like so you can have any rail you want.

I was looking at the delta, delta vtac, and alpha vtac. All seem like awesome rails. The picture forum has a guy that has a delta troy on his sport, looks nice.

No. It will not work. The OR gas block is too wide.
edit: And yes, I confirmed this with Troy when the rail first hit the market. If you want any longer length rail other than carbine, you will have to swap your railed gas block for a low profile gas block. Then get whatever you want.

Are you talking about the delta rail or putting a mid or rifle length over the OR block? You might be right but I think it may just fit. Below is the rail he's talking about.
OP is trying to fit this rail on an OR. OP do you have, or can you buy, a set of calipers and measure the width of the block and take a pic of the block? I can look at my delta and see what I can figure out. I don't think the Delta fits so tight around the FS that it wouldn't work. I want to say in my research about the Delta I saw it on an OR style rifle.

Yes. That's the rail I'm talking about. Unless Troy gave me bad information, they state it will not work. Now, I'm sure you can make it work with a dremel and some flat black high temp paint.

Interesting
If dimensions can be sent to me I can break out my calipers and see.

That was going to be my suggestion. Nothing a Dremel can't fix... or destroy, depending on operator.

Thank you for all of the input, but I found a video on YouTube where someone installed this rail on a or. Needs a little trimming from the bottom of the gas block, but it will work.

So does that mean you're going to try it?
