M&P 15T tactical
Im in the early stages of buying my first AR15. I currently own a m&p 15-22 and Im considering buying a m&p 15T tactical. I figure since they are so similar, I can practice with the 22 and it wouldnt be a huge difference when I pick up a 15T.
My other choice is a DDM4 which would cost $400 more. I really like the DDM4 but with the $400 difference, I can buy a nice scope and mags for the M&P 15T Tactical.
Any openions?

I think you'll run into a biased crowd around here.
I also think you answered your own question.
If it were me, and it was, I would go with the T (roll around in the $400 for a while), then dump your savings into the optics, etc.

I pulled the trigger on a 15T this weekend, figured the deal was too good to pass up, $850 after taxes & military rebate. Looking forward to shooting it-probably this weekend. Will use this for limited 3 gun, general shooting.
So question is what bullet weight is best to wring out the best accuracy?

Grats on your purchase! I have one too and love it. it's the only AR I've ever owned, and I did a lot of research before I forked over my money. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
As for bullet weight- mine shoots XM855 62 grain just fine- 1" groups at 100 yards. I reload with Hornady 60 grain Vmax and shoot sub 1" groups. YMMV.

I also find the 53gr Vmax and the 55gr Nosler ballistic tips to be really good.

Well took it out for the first time, quick zero @25 yards, was spot on. Confirmed it at 50 & tried difference between the M855 & M193 rds, found the M855 shot slightly higher but still grouped very well. Was able to hit the gong @300 yards 3 out of 4 times. Functioned 100%. Next time hope to have a dot scope, as irons, while good, was challenging for me with my eyesight.
Am very pleased with it am and glad I made the purchase.
