Maybe I'm an idiot but I can't see how you remove the stock mp15 buttstock so I can install the magpul I have coming today. Is there a trick to it or did I also need to buy a new buffer extension tube? I did buy a MIL spec buttstock. Can anyone please help?

Ok scratch this dumb question. I figured it out. Just didn't pull down far enough on the lever. Duh!

Instead of rocking the lever back to adjust the length, pull the entire lever down and slide it off. Get a good grip on it.

What's so special about the Magpul Grip other than a tiny storage compartment?

I wouldn't call it special because grip is a matter of preference but I do feel it was a great upgrade for $16. I never used the compartment. Some like a rubber tacky grip like the hogue. I liked the texture of the magpul - grippy but not overly so. It also fit better in my hand than the thinner stock grip.

I for one like all the Magpul stuff they have now days. The butt stock IMO seems more reliable. It doesnt have the wiggle, as does the Tapco butt stock. The mags are just "the mags" lol, we all know how reliable those are. My grip seems to be a little different than most, its a magpul MOE in both black and FDE which also has the compartment storage on the bottom. I also like the textured grip that it has (in case of wet hands). And if u look hard enough, u will notice that I also have a magpul MIAD enhanced trigger guard. This gives more room for those fatty fingers and of course gives room for those who wear gloves.

Hard to go wrong with the VLTOR EMOD stock, IMHO.
