New M&P 15OR -- scope/optics questions...
i have been looking for a little while and trying to educate myself on AR 15s
this morning I (my wife) bought me a new S&W M&P 15OR -- after looking (fondling) several different makes and models Saturday -- i thought i would take my wife and point to the one i wanted for Christmas (she's very generous). yesterday evening the shelves were empty.
anyway, i found the M&P this morning and scooped it up. i was looking at one with iron sights and figured i would have time to look into scopes/optics, later, but the OR is railed and ready....
i need some advice
thanks
mr p

A couple of questions:
1. What is your budget?
2. What is the intended purpose of your AR? (hunting, home defense, plinking, etc.)
Easier to give advice when we have some idea of what to suggest.
And...welcome to the forum. I've had an OR for several years and have enjoyed it.

Welcome to the club, my wife bought me the same one for Christmas 2 weekends ago. I picked up a 4X32 TruGlo Tru-Brite Extreme scope for $79.00

Great Rifle, my opinion, if you are going to shoot 100yards or less a 3-9 is a great choice. If you are going to shoot 200yrds you need a minimum of 6-24x50 Bushnell...if your budget has some leeway in it my other sport has a 4.5-20x50 Nitrex on it. It is a great scope. My nephews like the Bushnell better but we are shooting Pdogs at 200 minimum....Just food for thought

1-4x20 Matte - M-223 - Riflescopes | Nikon Hunting
Very happy with my Nikon M 223 1-4x20 with Point Blank retticle,
Excellent for close quarters, 3 gun type competition and range shooting out to 100 yds.
