Hi all, first time posting in THIS section of the forum. We bought a LWRC M6-sl, which is a light ar-15 with a piston, at a local gun shop for 1700$ last week (not bad, because the price was supposed to be around 1900! He was a family freind and knew we needed a ar-15 badly). Now before y'all start a debate on DI vs piston, I was hoping to get some info. The rifle has a mid length gas system with midlength hand guard, moe stock and grip. What I want to know is will the MOE scout light and illumination kit work together? IF anybody know, that would be great thanks!!

I'm making the assumption that you have a Magpul MOE mid-length handguard on your AR. The Scout Mount is a different product than the MOE Illumination Kit. Either of these Magpul products will mount to a Magpul handguard.

I use a Magpul Scout Mount & a small light on my rifle.



The Magpul Scout Mount creates a nice thumb shelf & grip index point.

There isn't anything wrong with a gas piston AR15. If it works, it works. The only disadvantage is that every manufacturer uses their own proprietary gas piston system. Finding replacement parts on short notice can be challenging.
