Default My Optics came in

I ended up ordering Vortex StrikeFire Red Dot Sight 30mm Tube 1x 4 MOA Red Dot Extra-High back on December 27th. I was a little put off buy the price I thought geeze its expensive, but it came so highly recommended I decided to give it a shot. I was also a little worried about my astigmatism which is severe causing issues with star burst. I tried checking out a Vortex locally but no one had one.

Today it came in and I mounted it up on my rifle using the included mount. Took it out side to check it out and its perfect. No star burst just a nice round dot. It feels extremely solid the construction is top notch and the features are perfect.

The only 2 cons I could find are the lens caps are a pain in the butt to close and its a tad hard to turn on it takes several attempts. I am guessing thought that was the fix people talked about. I read some people where having issues where the sight would turn its self on in your bag when transporting.

Overall I am extremely pleased and extremely happy I payed a little more for a high quality product. I can not wait to get it to the range and sight it in.

Congrats...I love mine. I have a starburst but that's because my eyes are getting old. I'm not old, just my eyes. My caps are tough too but they wear in.
Enjoy it and be safe

Agreed, you'll most likely love it. I get the starburst, but only when I keep both eyes open. Weird thing is, my astigmatism is in my left eye and I'm right-eye dominant

Actually it's pretty inexpensive for the quality, the next closest would be an Aimpoint at more than twice that amount.
Heck there was someone in the 15-22 photo thread with an ACOG TAO1 mounted on his, and those are 3 times the cost of the rifle.

Good deal! I also ordered the Vortex Strike Fire a few weeks ago, but mine has the red/green dot. I didn't particularly care for the straight up mount so I ordered a cantilever mount from Amazon for $14.00. My only problem now is getting the rifle to put it on ...... Right now I'm parts gathering, both the lower & upper are on back order, so now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that these parts come in before the good old government puts it's AR ban out there.

I gotta agree 100% the price to value ration is out of this world. What I read there customer service is top notch. They kinda remind me of RIA. There not a major known expensive brand but they produce a solid product at a basement price. Then back it with a exceptional warranty

I agree I would prefer the caps be super tight then lose same with the on/off switch its kinda pita but at the same time dead battery's are worse. I wanna post pics but I cant right now someone misplaced the camera's battery that's why I hadn't posted any pics yet.

Do you think the 4MOA dot is too big? Do you use a magnifier?
