Default Sell or keep

The insane prices sure do give rise to thoughts about selling. The money from the AR would buy two other coveted rifles on my list and set up my reloader and still have enough cash for reloading supplies.....and a good steak barbeque.

Going back and forth in my mind.

Well just a little while ago I heard that the Assault Weapons Ban may NOT pass in congress because republicans and NRA has enough support to block it.

If you believe that, sell it and pick up the other firearms...

I want to believe, but so far I am holding on to mine.

Ruger gunsight scout and Magnum Research 22LR with Dillon 550, bullets, powder, primers, miscellaneous tools plus a couple of Ribeyes on the grill (with the requisite libation of choice).

Sure is tempting and out here in the DPRC any federal **** will be amplified several times with regards to the evil black guns.

Congress doesn't need to do anything. Obama can do it with an executive order. I do believe he will.

Would be very difficult and probably touch off an huge uprising that would be very very ugly on many levels

Keep it......Dont be like many others and be frowned upon because u like to take advantage of the situation and fellow Americans. Unless of course u sell it for a reasonable non gouging price.

I personally will NEVER deal with cheaperthandirt (CTD) because of their price gouging on their customers. Remember people the customers are the ONLY reason places like them stay in business.

PS: The man up in the big house cant do ***, because he knows in the end. The citizens will win and the government will lose. The government doesnt want another civil war on their hands at a time like this. With 80 million gun toting Americans standing side by side on the field of battle. The government would have no hope but to surrender. And when this government surrenders the foreign countries will start to evade us. Then its going to be us against the world.

I say keep it people impulse selling really good shooters are going to end up hating them self's in the long run. They will hate them self's even more if the government ends up passing some new law that makes owning one 10x's harder.

I feel bad for the people that wanted one and came to the game during this period. My Sporting Rifles will be handed down when I go but some people purchased theirs at a price that is almost unrealistic. I was taught that a gun purchase is an investment. But some investments lose value. For their sake I hope not. I just wonder how many are out there that will never be shot?

I used to think I wanted an AR, but never had a "need"..so never bought one, I have my hunting rifles, shotguns, etc..NEEDS are covered. I certainly would never buy an AR at these crazy prices.

Supposedly, there was enough opposition to the "fiscal cliff" compromise to prevent it from going into effect, but I predicted the Republicans would cave. And they did. Mr. Boehner uses foul language towards Mr. Reid in the hallway, but cowers when all is said and done.

Unfortunately, I believe the supposedly pro-gun legislators will cave on gun control also. Many of them are, at best, "fair weather supporters," and all will be afraid to incur the constant wrath of bad press they will get as they fear losing office more than anything else.

Is anyone else sick of the gutless politicians on both sides who will not solve a problem unless the media gives them permission and who, regardless of politics, will spend exactly twice what they bring in from tax revenue?

That's comparing apples and oranges hopefully I don't get two political.

The fiscal cliff affected everyone pretty much equally and to be the party blamed for it would have been devastating.

This gun debate is a completely diffrent there are 3 sides not 1.

We have Anti Gun Rights
We have Pro Gun Rights
We Have People who dont care either way

With sales the way they are Anti's dont have the numbers the Pro gun rights people have. The Anti Gun rights seem to be a very vocal minority with TV backing them making them loom larger then they are.

The people who most likely don't care are going to be the ones who wanted there free hand outs. They got what they wanted they could careless and arnt really going to lift a finger to do anything about it either way.

The executive order thing is what really scares me.

He can make an "executive order" but I believe enforcement will be very difficult!

This entire post is rubbish and not at all what this forum is intended for.

No one is taking advantage - you are not forced to buy anything and a single AR is not currently a necessity.

Get things in proper perspective for goodness sake. Chinese workers are taken advantage of. Children in sweatshops are taken advantage of. Refugees whose aid relief is controlled by gangs are taken advantage of.

Charging 5x for medical supplies in the aftermath of a disaster...yes. But griping because you don't like what someone charges for a piece of machined metal that you don't really NEED? Come on.

And one more thing - your 80 million armed patriots would be fighting whom? The U.S. military - not the Senators, Congressmen, and CIC himself.

Relax, state your case to your representatives calmly and professionally, and stop the nonsensical ranting about civil war.

And one more thing - it's INvade, not Evade. There are plenty of forums on the net where guys like you can talk tough. Please seek them out.

I hope the mods lock this and I will accept any admonishment for my part in it.

OP, sorry this got off track. If you can get everything on your list for the cost of one rifle, I say go for it.

This is where I'd be with it. If there were other items I wanted more than the AR, then I'd probably do it.
