Found Some 5.56 Today

Early this morning, I dropped by my LGS and he actually had some Federal 5.56 55 grain ammo.

I got two 20 round boxes for $40. I really hated paying $1 per round, but I did. Last I remember they were about 35 cents per round.

I got back home and got to thinking that maybe the $1 figure wasn't too bad. Went back to the store and they were completely gone!

Oh well....

Got lucky two days in a row...yesterday found two boxes of Federal .223, today I found two boxed of Independence 556, all four were 16 bucks apiece.

Just this week, the nearby Wally had about 2 dozen boxes of 5.56 55gr winchester on the shelves. It was like $12.29/box. When they have it, this is the best deal I've seen. Everywhere else, if they have it is $16-$20/box.

i got a 100 rounds of 5.56 federal, for $59.99, pretty high but better than $1.50 a round.....

Cabela's had .223 American Eagle at $9.99 for a box of 20 the other day.

Back around 2000/2001, Q3131 was selling at local gun shows for $180/1K! Wolf steel cased could be had for $80-100/1K.

Today's $1/round for 556 ammo is absolutely obscene. Sign of the times, I guess.

Got lucky and scored 2 100rd boxes of Federal 223 at my local Walmart for $34.97ea. First time these have been in for awhile. Just walked in as she was putting them in the case. Only 2 they got in.

well we live quite a ways apart but I stumbled onto the same thing today as well. They had 4 on the shelf not sure if anymore that that had come in or not but I grabbed 1 box. Would have gotten 2 but needed to curb the ammo purchases lately lol

last week I traded 10 new FAL mags for 880 rounds of Lake City M855 on stripper clips. Had to pay for the shipping though.

2 x 100 .223 federal at walmart yesterday. only 2 they had. got 1 x 50 of 9mm because they were nearly out of that too. only $90 for all of it.
