Default Look at the gun shelf

I hope this is a good sign throughout the rest of the country. Prices are reasonable as well, in the low 1K range as well as few under 1k. They even have Pmags in stock, but the price on the mags were not pleasing at all.

That's great!

I think the .22 rimfire ammo will be the last to show up.

Yes - that and M&P .22 magazines. I haven't seen either in months!

The Market is Saturated. When you start selling something to the public, eventually unless it is a consumable, you sell all you can sell. I expect to see prices really drop. Still cant get any ammo to speak of, when it is cheap and plentiful it gets used up. From what I have been able to find out is that some companies that contracted from the Ammo Manufactures directly are getting it. The rest of us will be able to buy guns, cheap guns, but with no ammo the government is just going to sit and wait until the extra ammo out there is shot up.

I am waiting for the "deep discount" on a LMT Monolithic LOL

A couple of months ago I would have agreed the market is saturated. Ammo was easy to find and ar's lined the walls. Now everywhere I look ammo shelves are empty and the only ar's I see are the cheapest base models and a few high $2k and up pieces. I managed to find my T model at a small town pawn shop sitting all alone next to some.22's. No doubt though that demand will eventually drop along with prices but I would think that right now, in my area atleast, prices are still on the rise. Atleast that's my rationale explaining to the wife why I should go ahead and get one. That and ther worry that if some states do start banning them supply vs demand will only get worse as people start shopping out of state.

I stopped counting the guns at 40. That is quite a selection. I wonder what the name of the shop is? Is it a box store or chain? It would be nice to walk in a shop with a selection like that to choose from. Decisions, Decisions.......

Its just a LGS, no big name at all. They have always had 10 or so on the shelf. The thing is we live down here in the south, most of us around here already have several evil black rifles. So lots of then stay on the shelf for some time. Pmags, i dont think anyone could ever have enough of. Maybe thats why the prices on them are so high, IMO.

Best part about my shopping experience there today, besides seeing all the weapon. .22LR was $17 a brick of 525. But they had a limit of 10. I guess I have plenty of ammo for hunting those racoons now.

About the same here. Everyone already has what they want or wanted. Ammo is so-so but keeps trickling in. PMags don't sit too long and are about that same price. ONLY because they are hard to get. It's that limited "mag scare" thing. I have what I want. But like you said, you can never have too many

i was at academy sports in bossier city,La. this evening.they had alot of guns in stock, but no ar's or pmags.they had in stock however some 223/556 metal magazines with the red jacket firearms name on them. price was 24.99 each. dont know anything about them,so i didnt even ask to look at one.their ammo stock was still down on the popular stuff, but i did see more shotgun and standard hunting ammo on the shelf than i have in a while.

LMAO, I was about to ask myself "***". Until i thought a little harder on it and realized what you were getting at.

I surely hope Pmags weren't $30 a piece on that day.

Boudin: You couldnt give me anything with a RedJacket logo on it. And if you did, id use it for target practice immediately. Vince (former employee of RedJacket) now owns his own company in Baton Rouge. He does much better work than Will and any of his new guys could ever imagine doing.

LMAO, the above picture reminds me of what Wills shop always looks like. AR's sitting all over the place, because no one wants to buy them.

There is a reason he went in contract with Academy and started selling all his AR's to them. He had to figure some way to sell something.

M&P AR's for less than $800 and bricks of .22 for $17?

Is there a yellow brick road leading to these finds? A scarecrow opening the doors?

I haven't seen a brick of .22 ammo in so long I'm wondering if they ever really existed...

Heck yes, glad to see they are starting to come back here and there. It's a matter of time before it's all back to normal. The only thing around here thats still being hit on is the .22LR. But it can still be found if u look around hard enough. The most expensive I have seen a brick of .22LR in a store was $23. Thats still not a terrible price, but it's not exactly cheap either.

Everything is slowly trickling it's way back to the stores around here, finally.

I went to Gander Mountain in Madison, WI today.

Not a single AR-15 in stock. But they did have about 10 AR-22's, one was S&W, a couple of Walthers, some unknowns.

Three boxes of .223 ammo at $37 / 20 rounds.

The only 9mm they had was Gold Dot and similar, about 6 boxes of a couple brands, $34 and up per 20.

Had 2 boxes of .22 short and some .22 shot.

No reloading dies, 1 can of powder, no bullets, no brass except for 30/30, and only 1 bag of steel shot for shotgun shells.

The clerk said they are filling the shelves with empty ammo cans and shotshell wads to make the shelves look full.

I asked when they get ammo delivery and he said it varies, but they have cars driving through every night looking for the semi that brings ammo. Once it is spotted, the word goes out and by morning there are more than a dozen cars in the lot when they open. By the time the ammo is counted and brought out there is a long line standing by the shelf. Even though there is a limit, guys will pile ammo in their cart then walk around the store calling people on their cell phones to come pick it up. The clerk has had to forcibly take ammo from customers and put it back on shelves. Then customers will take the ammo and hide it in clothes, behind other boxes, and in other departments so they can come get more later.

No, it's not getting better in Wisconsin yet.....
