Buffer Retainer problems
I need help--
I was cleaning both my M&P 15 Sport and OR and in doing so I also swabbed out the buffer tube. The problem I am now having is I thought I reassembled the Buffer, B-spring, retainer and retainer spring correctly. But when I pull back on the charging handle, the retainer and retainer spring pop up and jam the bolt. Please help.

How far down did you strip the gun? By your description, you would have had to pull the end plate and receiver extension to remove that pin. You need a special wrench to do that.
Whatever you did, that detent is a captured part. If it pops up, it need to be replaced.

Did you remove the buffer tube when cleaning? The buffer retaining detent and detent spring are held in place by the buffer tube. Screw in the buffer tube until the lip of the buffer tube properly retains the pin, then tighten down the castle nut.

I don't remember the manual stating to take the weapon that far down... You could have just swabbed out the recoil tube IF it was dirty.

I guess it's possible. I just don't know how you could do it without trying.
