Default Newbie Ammo question .223 or 5.56 1/9

Yes I know i'm a newbie here but do have questions on ammo. I just bought my 1st S/W M&P AR 15. The barrel has 5.56 1/9 stamped on it. The only ammo I could get at the time was .223 Hornaday 65gr. It has shot flawlessly but do I need to be shooting 5.56 instead? All experties will be appreciated.

If it has a 5.56, you can shoot both 5.56 and .223, but not vice versa (a .223 barrel should not shoot a 5.56 round)

The 5.56 is loaded to a higher pressure. The throat is longer and the taper angle to the lands is less sharp to deal with it in a 5.56 chamber.
