Unhappy M&P 15 chamber/bore/feed ramp corrosion

Hey guys,
So 3 yrs ago I bought a m&p 15 moe (from what I an tell same model as the x) wet out and put 130rds through it at two seperate points without cleaning and then put it away without cleaning it............. Dumb I know...now. When I pulled it out a week ago and there was some spots that look like it might be corrosion in the chamber around the part that the bolt group rests against (not were the actual face of the bolt rests but the part information of where the star part is) I tryed using hoops no9 solvent and then another time some rem oil. I got the grease out but there is still the what looks like black stuff that won't come off I'm not sure if have messed my rifle up or if that's just the way they look.
I was just wondering if this was something to be concerned about
or if I'm just over concerned.

P.s. it was stored in my closet and then under my bed, so it wasn't in any weather.

Thanks guys

Well.... at least you realized the first problem. A picture of said problem would help as well

I am not seeing much corrosion. I think a good cleaning, a good lube and some shooting will likely take care of things.

Its fine, go shoot it, clean the chamber with a good brass chamber brush first with some type of CLP breakfree, and follow with some cop-out down the bore, when you're done hose it down with CLP or WD if you don't have time to clean it properly. I was sick to discover my 1957 Super 38 Colt Guvment, in the box with factory brush and vapor paper had 1 very UGLY spot of corrosion on the top side of the slide, I attempted to remove it with 0000 steel wool, bad move. I know I wiped it down, but my cheap gun safe is in my closet, in Central Obamastan, well the moisture and politicians being tough on guns is true... I may get stupid and send it to Turnbull. Any way, due to the box and paper being nearly sixty years old, and trying to protect my gun by not handling it, I caused the problem, get em out and wipe em off, better to wear em out than let them rust out! Put on whatever cleaning fluid your using and let it sit for 15 minutes or so and then clean it out. It looks more like a build up of crud rather than rust to me, but it's hard to tell. I would soak a bore snake and get the barrel clean and the bolt carrier group as well. Spray some CLP and let it do its job before wiping it off. You should be fine.

PB Blaster and Kroil are both good at cutting rust. WD40 does nothing to rust except make it wet. I restore old Jeeps ('40s era) so I am very familiar with rust (even in Seattle). But as others have said, that doesn't look that bad, as long as the face of the bolt is clean, the bolt locks into place, and the bore is free of obstructions, shoot it.

I think I would use some good hoppe's copper solvent. Let it soak over night but just use enough to wet the area you want to clean.. looks to me like it's just some brass or copper color on the metal. I'm not seeing rust or pitting of any kind. Any way just clean and lube after that.. I just don't see anything bad in your picture..I think your fine! George

I use CLP, and it's not un-common to let solver or cleaner sit 24 hours, before removing and oiling. From the pictures, it doesn't look too bad at all. Again, Break Free powder blast or CLP can sit 24 hours, so this method may or may not be of some assistance. Hope you get cleaned to satisfaction, good luck.

P.s. If this doesn't help the problem, it is suggested to use KleenBore no.10 solvent, and a fresh nylon brush to fouled areas.

With the CLP its a cleaner, Lubricant, and preservative so letting it sit in your M&P won't hurt it.
