I don’t know what y’all did today – probably something mad like went to work and earned money.
Work is real slow for me this week.
Probably a good thing, since I woke up Monday morning with a back spasm that was so bad, I couldn’t reach my *** with my right hand.
Ended up wiping with my left hand. It wasn’t pretty.
Called the Pain People, and they said come on in. Shot me up with that stuff that killed a bunch of people last year, and out the door my skippy *** went.
Less than 48 hours later, pain all gone, except where they rammed the needles into my back and my ***.
Still no work, so off to the range for me. :-p
Fairfax 200 yards.
No sighters.
Just guessed at the dope because I’m shooting some moly’d SMK 69’s (boxes dated 1999) that I found in an ammo can at the bottom of my “arsenal.”
Running 26.0 grains N540 (also dated from the 90’s). Seems pretty hot if recoil is any indication. 4x-fired brass looks OK though.
Awfulhand really not too awful today.
Couldn’t scope the black part of the target much through the mirage at 200 yards.
Face of the target stapled over at least 20 rumpled and shot-up centers had more ridges and valleys than Appalachia.
We’ll fix those targets someday.
When the two shots appeared in the white I clicked-on some left.

Two strings sitting rapid.
Mirage in the scope was worse when I lowered the scope for sitting position.
After first string, all I could see in the scope was a few holes that looked 12 o’clockish in the 10 ring and one of those high nines.
I didn’t touch the sights for a second string.
Something to be said for zeroing the rifle for 10 o’clock on the X-ring line, so that when I yank the trigger to 5 o’clock, I still come away from it with a 10 or a not-an-8 that I didn’t really deserve.

300 without dope is always my nemesis (see first group in 9-ring).
Came left 1.25 minutes and up 0.25 minutes for second group (should have come up more and left less).

600
Always has to be ONE that goes and ruins it.
Its that “shot-out” Bushmaster barrel. Yeah, that’s where that 7 came from. I’m sure of it.
First shot was that low 9.
I came up a half-minute, and didn’t touch the sights for the rest of the string, ‘cause the scope was useless after a few shots were on paper.
Just as well.
If I’d seen that 7, I couldn’t have kept my hands off my knob.
