Default Mag Holders

Hi Guys n Gals!
I am thinking of buying a drop leg/thigh mag holder for my S&W magazines so that i can use it in 2 gun matches. I was looking at the Kydex or injection moulded type, like Blade Tech. Any advice as usual would be more than welcome. Cheers Paul

Hey Paul,

For a drop leg setup you may want to consider the Costa Leg Rig. It will hold rifle and pistol mags.

Costa Leg Rig

Another setup that I have thought about trying out is the Raven Concealment ModuLoader. This one runs off the belt.

ModuLoader Frames

Both of these use HGSI Tacos and I think that of the two, only the Moduloader is user configurable.

One thing I would keep in mind for using a drop leg setup is that if you are trying to reload on the move it may be a little more difficult since the mags are moving with your leg, and your hand will be searching around trying to get to the next mag.

I would also take a look at what the top guys in the matches are using and maybe run what they run. Or get some feedback from them.

Default thanks

Thanks for the info, i shall look into the links Cheers!

The reason for wanting a drop leg was because in our 2 gun matches i would already be wearing my shot gun belt around my waist leaving no space for a couple of S&W Mag pouches.

I shall have a look on you tube and see what the experts use!

Thanks again for the links.

What type of 2 gun competition are you running? Since you say you will have shotgun shells on your belt it is shotgun/pistol, carbine/pistol or shotgun/carbine/pistol?

If you are new to multigun competitions you may want to consider just running some extra shells, mags in spare pocket of some cargo pants to help get a better idea of what may or may not work. Some of the gear can get pretty expensive and may not work out how you think it would. But sometimes you just have to buy and try.
