Best thing you can do with steel cases after you pick them up at the range is to take them to the scrap yard and get some cash....

Can you? Yes. Should you? No.

I have loaded steel before, it is a little different, but that was 45 acp. 556/223 is more or less 3 times the pressure. Case failure wont KB you gun, but case head separation becomes a very real issue that could take the gun out of action while you dig the remnants out of the chamber.

I've reloaded 45 auto steel case stuff. You need to use a steel resizing die( not carbide) to resize it. It works okay and the Tula stuff is boxer primed.

In general, it's not very common to do so.
I run mostly Wolf/WPA. But this said, I have sent several thousand Tula and the various 'Bear' ammo thru the rifles.
In general, I see about a 2-5% neck split on the cases. If 2-5% are splitting on the first pass, I imagine the reloads will be full of problems, and not worth the effort.

I mop up the steel cases with a roller magnet, and then toss them into the scrap metal bin.

Thanks everyone for the info., from now on I'll be tossing my used steel cases into a box so I can take them to the scrap yard.
