Default Front swivel for M&P 15 OR MSR
Folks, Any recommendations for the front swivel? My OR has the .375 dia. smooth hole and the 8X32 threaded hole in the bottom of the gas block. Thanks in advance.

That's for a quick-detachable sling swivel, something like THIS from Midway. You may be able to find one at your local stores as well. That was the very last item I bought from Dick's Sporting Goods, as they had one in stock while the other stores near me were out of stock.

Don't want to hijack this, but I think Johnjeff, and I want the same thing.

My ORC, has a real swivel installed.

The bottom of the gas block does not, but it has a 7/16" smooth hole, with a recessed ridge slightly below the top of the hole. Not familiar with this at all, it MAY fit the Midway swivel shown above. If it does, someone let me know. That fixture would be great. Midway doesn't show the dimensions.

Behind the smooth hole, there is a appx. 3/8" threaded hole, which I assumed would be the location of a swivel base. Thread size, ???. Again just don't know.

Color me clueless.

I think JohnK and I want the same thing. Just to add a sling to our M&P 15 ORs building on the features already in the gas block.

Gotcha. It's just a standard Quick Disconnect sling mount that you need. Here's my OR gas block with a QD mount.
