I'll stick with the 18rd extensions for the Gen2. 48rds and they have never failed.

Not sure if this is the one he has but "Nordic Components Magazine Extension 18 Round Fits Pmag Magazines Polymer Black" Google them Brownells have them in stock but you can get 2 30 P-mag plus change for the extension alone.

Yeah those are the ones. Although i got mine cheaper at the LGS, lol. They only work on the Gen2's, so if u have a few like many of us then they work out fine. No need to buy a longer mag when we already have something that makes a mag "longer" yet still has 8 more rounds.
So in reality Magpul invented something that the market didnt really want or need at the moment because we already have something that works just as good. However, those AK Pmags sure were a great idea. The AK guys have been waiting on this for a long time now.

I don't know... you have to buy a Pmag Gen M2 plus an extender tha'st 2x that... pretty pricey compared to the $20 magpul is asking for a 40 rounder that is entirely magpul components.
I can tell from your posts that you are very satisfied with the 18rd extender but that doesn't mean there isn't a market for a 40rd Pmag.
If anything Magpul should make a 50rd Pmag, give you an extra 2 over the 18rd extension and if it follows their price scheme it would only be $25 - an entire magazine for the price of the extender and you wouldn't have to sacrifice a 30 rounder (or factor in the price of one) to get higher capacity.

Yeah right. I got one PMAG 40 from Midway. Just ordered a second PMAG 40 from Miday on a second "notify me". So I guess there is a market for at least two of them. I think Magpul may be making a fortune on stuff that the maket does not really want or need at the moment.

Nah i mean if u already have several boxes of Pmags like some of us, lol. No need to go out and add another Pmag to the stable when we can just add extensions and get the job done with more ammo.
The hot market item from Magpul at the moment is the 10rd shorty .223 mags and the AK mags. These have been wanted by the end user for long periods of time.

I received my first PMAG 40 a couple of weeks ago from Midway. It worked great, I loaded 40 rounds and shot them with no issues. I received the second one today. I will keep you posted. I usually try out new magazines during the normal course of practice. Ammo is too scarce for me to burn it up just testing magazines.

I loaded the second PMAG 40 up with 40 rounds. I ran them all through an M4 style carbine with no issues. That is one 40 round test for each of two PMAG 40s with no issues. I think shooting an M4 expecting your PMAG 40s to fail will only lead to disappointment.
