Another way to tell (I believe this holds true for all) is the MilSpec tube is flat on the end - while the Commercial tube has tiny slant to the end. Also the threads on MilSpec are larger than the rest of the tube while the Commercial is the same diameter the whole way.
At least this is the info I've gleaned off the interwebnet'thingy.

The only real way to know is to measure. There are some commercial tubes that are flat end.
If it is not a compliant model and has an adjustable stock, it should be mil-spec dimensions. But again, with all the confusion regarding barrels between models, measuring is the only way to know for certain what is on your rifle.
Measure twice....buy once....the ACS-L is a good choice providing a solid platform and good cheek weld. Depending on color (like OD) they can be difficult to find in milspec.
Thanks fellers,
Another member supplied me with a verification thread from another forum stating the 15T's buffer tubes are Mil-spec sized. (At least they were at one time).
Ordered a black, Mil-spec sized ACS-L from MidwayUSA earlier today.
The OE stock on the 'T' just doesn't give me any cheek weld, period.
When I bought the rifle I knew I was eventually gonna change the stock to an ACS but then I found there was a stripped down model with built in QD point, I thunk to myself, I thunk "Self, that's even better!".
And Magpul's rubberized grip is next. I believe I know which size to get on that one.
Thanx again
