Default Back up sight question

As you folks can see this is the first time Ive posted on this forum. Ive been building an AR as money and time permits. I have a SW MP15 optics ready upper. My plan is to use a Burris AR332 sight mounted on a Larue QD mount. I also want a set of folding sights. Ive been told the poly sights wont be good because of the front gas block. I have no problem using other sights but Im not sure which brand to buy.
I would like the sights to co witness with the Burris. Can anyone out there give me some info, brands, part numbers ? Thanks !

I have a Burris AR 332 on my M&P MOE and it is a great optic. On the sight question, the thinking is a poly front sight might get hot and distort vs a metal sight. If you mount the Burris far enough forward on your rail, it will co-witness, but I have mine mounted as far back as I can just missing the rear sights. The eye relief (my eyes are OLD) is the problem for me.
You will love the Burris, I sure do.
I have one friend who has an EoTech w/3x swing away mount and wishes he had got a Burris AR332 like mine. The 3x is still pretty good for CQB and still allows you to shoot 2-300 yards (300 yards is the furthest I have shot my M&P) and the BDC really does work.
Troy seems to be the number one choice for BUIS, but there are a couple that are good as well. $$$$$seems to be the limiting factor.
I hope helped answer some of your questions.

Thanks for the reply. I was aware of the heat issue on the poly sights. Thats why Im still shopping around. The AR332 will be the first sight that I own that isnt a red dot. I know what you mean about having it back on the rail. I have 2 GSG 522s and I mounted the red dots really far back. Its easier for me to focus when theyre closer.
Ive looked at Troy, Yankee Hill and just about every other brand out there but I dont want to buy a set of expensive sights only to find out they wont work well with the Burris on the Larue mount.

Isn't this a 3x magnified optic? If so, you can't co-witness your BUIS.

As far as sights for the OR gas block, it's on the same plane as the rail so you will want standard sights. Stay away from "gas block" height sights as they are for gas blocks that sit on a lower plane.

Troy, Sampson, Midwest Industries and YHM are all good options for a folding front or fixed front sight.

Im glad you brought this up. Yes, the sight is 3X magnified. I didnt realize you cant co witness that type of sight. Makes sense though. Like I said everything else that I own has a red dot. Thats why I go on forums. To learn. Thanks !

Cool. I wasn't too familiar with the optic. I'd definitely get a folding front sight and stay away from a fixed.
