Default Sling for MP15 Sport

I just got a brand spanking new MP15 Sport. I don't plan on making any modifications to the rifle expect add an Eotech sight and a sling.

Can you folks help me with the sling? Do I need additional hardware? What kind of sling should I get?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ask yourself why you want a sling as a lot of people think they need one, but in reality, don't use it much if at all.

I think a lot of us envision the tactical aspect of having a sling, but find that once you realize your AR really only goes from the safe, to the car, to the range, and then back a sling doesn't fit into that equation.

If you do need one than I'd consider a two point sling since a one point sling is going to be hell on your "boys". Personally, I went with a Magpul MS3 sling, but I've yet to even use it since it serves no purpose at the range.

A sling is a useful tool for standing or kneeling shots! They aren't just for carrying

A million opinions on slings.

I've used several.

Currently using (and satisfied with) the Viking Tactics two-point sling.

I use HK-type sling-hooks to allow me to instantly swap the sling from one gun to another as my fashion-sense moves me. These HK (repro) hooks can be gotten off eBay.

Couple of good options above with the Viking Tactics and MS3 (I run the MS3). I like the option of 1 or 2 point although I'll almost always keep it in 2 point to keep my wontons safe. As far as where to mount your attach points, that's all preference. Try what you got and adjust as necessary.

I am using a MS3 sling. Rear attaches via Quick Disconnect (via a Amazon.com : Midwest Industries Quick Detach Sling Swivel Heavy Duty Flush Push Button : Gun Swivels : Sports & Outdoors@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41WFVt%2BUMYL.@@AMEPARAM@@41WFVt%2BUMYL (or something similar) to use as the attachment point for when in a one point configuration just to move that up and give me a few more inches ground clearance.

Forget about single-point unless you're a mall ninja wanting to rack yourself walking about hands-free. That leaves 2 or 3 point. The KISS principle leans toward the 2-point sling, although I do have several 3-point that I do really like.

My main obsession, with regard to slings, has become the QD swivel. Forward or rear on the handguard (built in to the front of my LE6940) and plenty of butt stocks have QD attachment points. QD on the single-point position is nice too, except for said notorious racking of the jewels when utilized.

There are some really expensive slings out there but a $9.99 Blackhawk! with 2 QD sling swivels is hard to beat.

That sounds like the way to go for my first sling. It is cheap enough that if I don't like it, I can toss it and replace it and have no regrets.

Can you provide a link to where I can get it.

Thanks. Appreciate your insights.
