Default Sport - First Range Outing

I just returned from the first range outing with the Sport. I'm thrilled with how it did. I put 40 rounds through it - flawless.

The attached photo shows results from a bench at 100 yds - stock sights - no adjustments at all from how it came out of the box. I did this after shooting a group and checking to see where things were going. I raised my aim point a bit - but didn't touch the sights.

I was a little pressed for time otherwise I would have stayed and monkeyed with stuff.

What a fun gun!

Why didn't you shift the sights to adjust POI? Looks like you need to move POI right a few clicks.

I was with friends and we had to go. I didn't see that group until I went to pick up the targets. It was the last group I shot.

You can shoot 1.5" low at 25 and that will get you real close at 100

Ever wonst in a while, Cabelas or another retailer will run good sales on 'Spotting Scopes' which come in real handy for checking POI's from the bench so adjustments can be made instead of having to walk 50-100 yds every time you want to verify your shooting skills.

Cabela's had a 'Simmons' scope w/table tripod and heavy duty case for $50 which I scarfed up.

Ain't top drawer, but works lots better than my legs.

Coupled w/a 'Shoot-n-C' target, those little .22 holes are about the size of a .50 cent piece thru the lens @100yds.

A good investment for me when range shooting.

just like you thought it should! Here's to your next range trip.

Nice group for first trip, open sights and you can make adjustments next trip.
I know guys who use spotting scopes, but I use my 10x Nikon Monarchs and 'splatter' targets on my trips to the range. I drag enough stuff as it is and the less I have to carry, the better.
